St. Martin's Cross, Isle of Iona

The original stone cross is 17 ft high. The symbolism of a central boss with four more around it, may be an 8c depiction of God and creation. The faith that St. Columba 6c brought to Iona saw God in the world about us, hence the nature based interlacing pattern on the shaft. St. Martin was the national hero of the Franks.

Q. How are the Studio's designs made?
A. All Wild Goose's work is handmade by skilled craft-workers using a cold cast method. Each piece has a shell of pure cast iron or bronze backed by a resin and ceramic core. Any variations in finish are part of its appeal.
